Everyone Wants to Get Rich Quick
Investing Retirement 401k RetirementI’m a reader of Reddit and I found a subreddit that makes me sad. It’s called r/WallStreetBets.
Everyone is posting on how much money they make or lose from trading ‘stonks’ using put or call options.
I ruminated about this in a video that I’m going to post soon.
Everyone get’s making money confused with the real thing, time. You can’t make more time, you can always make more money.
Investing in your life
I think the best thing to do instead of trying to get rich quick is to invest in yourself.
This could mean investing in the people you love and the things you like to do. Experiences are gold. No one can ever take away your experiences.
Cultivate relationships with the people you love. Make new friends and join new social circles.
For the Introverts, pick up a good book or reach out to close friend. I know what it’s like to be alone to recharge. This is why I live in the rural NJ.
The Only Renewable Resource is Love
The CEO in the company I work for now is always talking about this, and I think he’s right. I traded Love for Money once and I’ve regretted it all my life. When the time came to make that decision, to take the fork in the road, I chose the Money route.
Yes my life is completely different now and who knows where I’d be if I chose Love instead, but it still bothers me.
Learn Stock Trading, Investing, and Risk Management
There are a handful of financial and trading books that have made a HUGE impact on my investments. If you want to trade and learn about money and risk management then I suggest you get the Van Tharp book. If you want just focus on long term investing, get the Random Walk Down Wall Street book.
Hell, get them both. I owe my wealth to what I learned in those books.
