Cathie Wood's Ark ETF Kinda Blows Up

I have no ill will toward Cathie Wood or her Ark funds. I just find it funny that a lot of the high profile traders and investors tend to blow up. Sometimes by a lot. Ark Invest was all the rage in 2020 and 2021, when its concentrated bets on highly speculative technology companies paid off in a big way thanks to low interest rates and a boom in risk appetite among retail investors. ...

Terra Tech TRTC is Now Unrivaled Brands UNRVD

Terra Tech (TRTC) is one of my most favorite mistakes. I invested $1,000 many years ago into this company with the hopes of it turning my investment into more green dollars, if you will. Did it do that? Not at all; it’s been my biggest loser to date and ever. My investment went up in a cloud of smoke. I bought over 200 shares of TRTC for about $5 back on January 18, 2018. Since that time, I’ve watched it sell off, undergo reverse stock splits twice, and rebrand itself at least once. Now I have only 2 lousy shares left that I paid close to $500 per share. LOL. ...

NVDA Trends Higher

If it’s not the Fed rate cuts, then it’s NVDA’s tear higher. It’s going to the moon as r/WallStreetBets people would say. The good news is that it’s trading at an all time high and I expect it to break the $700 price level before it takes a breather, but I don’t know. Who really does? NVDA is having a field day because because all the big tech companies (META, MSFT, etc) and anyone else who relies on GPUs for Generative AI is buying their products. The demand in this nacesent but transformative market is like the comet that killed the dinosaur, the world will be radically different once Gen AI is everywhere and in every process. ...

META at an All Time High

The market went wild after the close last night when META reported earnings. On top of a great earnings report, they reported their first dividend! In other words, they’re slowly turning themselves into a blue chip stock. No matter how much I dispise Facebook and how it brought us to the brink of civil war in this country during the Trump years, I have to admire what the Zuckster is doing. He’s smart and very strategic. Plus they have amazing open source tools like PyTorch and Llama for Generative AI. They are a technological marvel, that’s for sure. ...

Agriculture GXK Index Revisited

In my journey as a solo finance and trading enthusiast (hack), I’ve developed a particular stance: I tend to steer clear of Futures. They’re a bit too volatile for my taste. However, that doesn’t mean I turn a blind eye to the markets. Quite the opposite — I like to keep a “lazy eye” on the pulse of things, especially when it comes to indices that caught my attention in the past. ...

The Magnificent Seven Stocks & Their Pending Crash

History might not repeat but it sure rhymes which seems to be the case here. I remember back in 2000, right before the Dot Com crash when four stocks, affectionately known as the “Four Horsemen” ruled technology. They generated so many gains with quarter after quarter of earnings growth. It seemed to go on forever until it didn’t anymore. I’m talking about MSFT, INTC, CSCO, and Dell.. Today we’re repeating this same lunacy except it’s the Magnificent Seven that rule technology in nearly the same way. Their strong price action is pushing the S&P500 to new all-time highs, which I’m a BIG fan of, but I can’t help but wonder one damn thing. ...

Will The Market Crash?

Is the market in good shape? Will it go higher from here? Or will it crash? There’s a lot of chatter out there right now and no one knows what’s going to happen in the markets. NVDA is breaking out and moving higher but BA is selling off like crazy. Talking heads think the Fed has engineered a soft landing for Wall Street but Main Street isn’t feeling so good. Traders and investors are nervous about this all going “tits up” but are more scared of missing out. On top of that, it’s an election year and Trump wants to market to crash under Biden. Meanwhile, Biden has been canceling student debt and exporting more oil than ever. ...

Boeing Crashes Hard

Me and my big mouth. I posted about Boeing flying high at the end of the year and patting myself on the back and then that door blew out on Alaska Air. Since then, the stock price has crashed and burned, rightfully so. Where will it stop? I guess it will hit the $180 target price level first. It might find some support there and it “feels” like a natural low point, but it’s hard to guess. ...

Boeing Rises Higher in Trading

Boeing (BA) had a great day yesterday! The stock’s been rallying from its interim low in October on a lot of good news coming out in its favor. For starters, Lufthansa has decided to buy new planes from Boeing over Airbus. That hasn’t happened since 1995! That’s nearly 3 decades ago! In fact, it appears that this has been a banner year for airplane orders and both Boeing and Airbus are benefiting! While the recent price action feels good, I do offer a word of caution though, Boeing is NOT trading at an all-time high. It’s just climbing out of the local low spot. ...
